Tell me what you want, what you really really want...

Soooo...I've been trying to blog more lately (uh-huh), and use my time more effectively (yeah, right), and I've come to one very frightening and obvious conclusion.

I have no earthly idea what I'm doing.

Seriously, I'm just making it up as I go along, people. I want to have interesting things to say, and posts so astounding that you have to talk about them with everyone you know(a girl can dream). But the fact is that I don't really know what people want to read, and what drives them to visit blogs and leave comments, or become members of websites. Hell, I can't even decipher that stuff for my own life. I never seem to know what will prick my interest from one day to the next. (I'm a gemini - don't judge me - LOL)

So what I want to know is - what do YOU guys want to see? What flicks your bic, or floats your boat? If it's contests and free stuff - what kinds of free stuff? Do you like free reads - posted stories or downloadable files? Polls? Heavy topics with controversy or fun, silly things to think about?

To make things more interesting, if you take the time to leave a comment and give me feedback, I'll enter you to win your choice of any of my ebooks, the winner to determined April 6th.

So, fire away, and give me something good!

P.S. - And don't forget to visit Crystal-Rain Love for the tail end of the Fool For Romance Contest! Winner will be picked April 1st!

I really like reading "real" stuff. I read a lot of blogs and find that some offer contests but I don't always care (I suppose it depends on what hoops you have to jump through and for what). If I have extra time I like stories but I don't always have time. I love posts about food and books the best. What are you reading, what food ideas do you have? but that's me. I don't really like polls unless it helps with the blog somehow. I like artsy stuff but I really like reading about someone's life - not all the time but enough that I get a sense of the "artist as a man" or in your case "woman".

Hi, Sara! I read ALOT - and used to post reviews. I think I might start doing some of that again. I also like to see what people think about books. Food - I can do food. You've given me some excellent things to think about! Thanks!

Personally, I think I enjoy reading author's blogs where they talk about their books and the writing process / the life of a writer in general. I guess I really like knowing how other people go about the writing process/what they like about it/etc... I also love funny anecdotes about pretty much anything (I love to laugh and will seize pretty much any excuse to do so!). Some heavier topics could be a turn off for me. For example: politics. Now, I've never seen this in a romance writer's blog, but if I did I probably wouldn't go back. And yes, who doesn't like posts that involve giveaways, especially books? I think they're great!

I like to laugh too, Ranae! I do my best to keep my posts entertaining and humorous, but I wonder sometimes if my sense of humor doesn't translate clearly over the WWW. Thanks for commenting!

I enjoy blogs where they teach or share helpful hints about writing (craft and business). I prefer ones that tell about that person's specific journey - the trials, tribulations, and also the successes. I love the funny anecdotes too. They give me an insight to "you the writer", which helps me connect with you and what you're doing.

Thanks for the comment, Rebecca! I'm definitely still learning, but getting published has taught me SO MUCH about the craft and business of writing.
